Hi I’m Lori.

I’m a Professional Certified Coach and a Master Equus Facilitator based in the Los Angeles area.

Congruence is at the heart of my work. Together we’ll explore a body-centred approach to coaching that will help you restore resilience and regulation to your system and develop a more supportive relationship with yourself. So that:

  • You feel less pressure to perform

  • You have greater capacity to take risks and experience your full potential, which is to say, a sense of aliveness

  • You can navigate moments of self-doubt with greater self-trust

MY CLIENTS

I work with thoughtful, creative individuals who want to explore their true potential beyond the narrow definition of success imposed by Western Culture. My clients are often curious, sensitive, and thoughtful individuals who have achieved success in certain areas but have yet to align their efforts with their core values. As a result, they often feel stuck in cycles of overwork, overthinking, and over-stretching, leaving little time and energy to live more authentically.

Through coaching, we embark on a journey of inner work, unraveling the motivations underlying their past performances. They develop a more compassionate connection with themselves by learning to slow down and cultivate a sense of reverence for their true selves and their unique ways of being. Simultaneously, they learn to embrace the support of a community, understanding that their own success is not only a personal triumph, but a contribution to the collective well-being.

My Coaching Journey

I can remember noticing as a child that how things looked and how things felt sometimes didn’t match up. People I trusted would tell me certain things, but I could sense a very different meaning behind their actions.

This incongruence (that many of us experience) can really splinter our relationship with self from an early age. We learn to stop trusting what our bodies are telling us.

And so, I learned to override my body and leaned heavily on my intellect to figure everything out. Disconnected from my true source of wisdom, I danced a long dance with perfectionism and eventually landed in burnout.

Finding my way home

I found my way back to my body after I left my job as a counselor. I had enjoyed working cognitively with these brilliant young people, using talking modalities, but I felt that the tools I had just weren’t enough — for them or for me. There had to be another way.

My search (and curiosity!) led me to mind-body coaching and eventually to equus (horse-assisted) coaching. It was with the horses in particular that things really started to fall into place. When I was with a horse in the round pen, having the energy that I brought to that space mirrored back to me by the horse, offered the opportunity to experience what connection and pure congruence felt like in my body. It was far more powerful than any conversation I could ever have had about such things.

This pull to the body – to the felt sense – led me to working with people in a more embodied, compassionate and congruent way.

The impact has been profound.

My Coaching Values

COMPASSION

Showing ourselves compassion sounds like a simple thing. But it’s actually not that easy for many of us.

Learning compassion means you can support yourself through whatever comes your way. You have your own back and can allow others to have your back too.

CONGRUENCE

In modern western life, we are rewarded for living in our heads – our bodies serving as mere props to get us from place to place.

Tuning into the body offers us information that makes our understanding of ourselves more complete and aligned.

This congruence brings a deep sense of trust & peace.

BELONGING

Our culture is obsessed with hyper-independence & self-sufficiency. But, really, we need each other to figure this thing called life out.

Our coaching partnership values body wisdom, receptivity, presence & shared experience. This interdependence helps to restore your sense of belonging.

I’m a lifelong learner. Here’s where my curiosity and interests have taken me:

  • Masters Degree in Counseling

  • Board Certified Coach (BCC)

  • ICF Certified Coach (PCC)

  • Master Equus Coach and Facilitator

  • Equus Coach Mentor

  • Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) in training **Advanced Year

  • Certificate in Somatic Attachment Therapy

  • Registered Yoga Teacher - RYT 200
